Tips for Bringing Your Kids to a Music Festival

Tips for Bringing Your Kids to a Music Festival

  1. Look into which festivals will be most appropriate for your family. Does your family want a less crowded festival, more events for toddlers, music everyone will enjoy? Just a bit of research can go a long way! Even if you go to multiple festivals, it can help greatly to know what to expect from each one and what to bring to each one.

  2. Remember to bring all the comfort items your child enjoys. Teddy bears, special blankets, etc… That can make a big difference. My kids have a stuffed turtle that double as a nightlight and cast stars on the tent walls. That’s a big hit at nighttime.

  3. As soon as you arrive to the festival and get settled in, be sure to head to the kids tent. Some kids areas like to sign kids in to make it easier to find you in case the child is lost. You can also pick up an event schedule so you don’t miss anything special going on that weekend.

  4. A collapsible wagon is a wonderful investment if your family hits multiple festivals. It can easily fit in your car and can hold a lot. At night time it’s very simple to make a small bed in the wagon so your kids can fall asleep at the stage.

  5. Listen to the bands ahead of time and find out what bands your kids like. Be sure to listen to those bands at the festival.

  6. If the festival you are going to is dusty, I strongly recommend peppermint oil to everyone. Putting a bit of the oil under your noise will help to clear out the sinuses so dust cannot clog your noise. This has helped my family greatly!
